Device Evaluation Engineer – II-VI – Stockholm

II-VI is looking for a Device Evaluation Engineer, Optoelectronic Components, to join the Component Design Team in Järfälla, Stockholm. This is a great opportunity for you with a degree in Applied Physics, Physics or Electrical Engineering to gain knowledge and experience working with leading-edge semiconductor optoelectronic components (Photonic Integrated Circuits, PICs). You will have an important role within the Component Design team, covering the various aspects of device performance evaluation in order to support an efficient design development process. If you are detail-oriented, have a natural curiosity and like working hands-on in a lab, this is the position for you.

As Device Evaluation Engineer you will initially work closely to a senior engineer, to gain knowledge and experience.

Your Responsibilities

  • Evaluate device performance, to support the design optimization and verification process
  • Participate in designing and building / customizing test setups for device evaluation
  • Participate in the design process during product development
  • Support product optimization in the manufacturing phase
  • Produce relevant technical documentation to support building and securing the knowledge base in the company
  • Actively seek information and keep updated on new technologies and techniques
  • Interaction, on daily basis, with on-site teams across multiple disciplines (Design, Wafer Fabrication Process Engineering, Operations, Quality and Reliability, Project Management).

The Bigger Picture

You will become part of a competent team consisting of ten engineers and you will report to the Manager Component Design and Simulations. The job requires working on-site, in a test lab with requirements on cleanliness and ESD control, and for a fraction of the time in a clean room environment.

Our Expectations

We are looking for you with a MSc (or higher) degree in electrical engineering, applied physics or physics. Hands-on lab experience is a requirement. Maybe you have been exposed to DC, RF, or similar measurements through your thesis work or during your studies. If you have experience in the field of Test and Measurement, it is an advantage. Since you will be a part of an international company, good knowledge in English, spoken and written, is a requirement for the position. Knowledge in Swedish is an advantage.
