Working as a Business Controller and participating in SEB’s International Trainee Programme will give you a unique opportunity to develop your professional skills in a modern and innovative company.
In your role at Group Functions CFO, you will be part of an ambitious team of business controllers who operates in a supportive and collaborative setting. Together with your colleagues, you will work for common fundamentals and best practices. This includes the use of data and related reporting tools such as business intelligence solutions, Excel and other financial IT systems.

Within Business Control, there are 14 colleagues in Stockholm and 6 in Vilnius. Most of the team members are assigned to support a certain area within Group Functions, providing stakeholders with financial advice and ensuring the fulfilment of financial targets. You will be involved in developing the controlling methods at Business Control. As well as, working directly with Group Functions´ CFO in different projects.
As a trainee in this position, you will use business intelligence to contribute and improve the profound understanding of the different support functions and its opportunities and challenges in the future. You will also have the opportunity to contribute with your fresh knowledge from university, such as innovative use of data integrated into business intelligence tools. You will develop and improve the common controlling processes and thereby ease the work by implementing automatisation solutions.
You will work mainly in projects that involve managers within the support functions. The projects can be of great variation in terms of duration and size but are always aiming at improving the common controlling processes.

We are looking for people who can challenge us and we will do everything we can for you to get a kick-start career in SEB. In return, we ask for this:
- an academic degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Statistics, Mathematics or equivalent.
- you are, or will soon graduate and have some work experience
- fluent in written and spoken English
It is not a requirement but a plus if you have experience acquired through leading projects, have worked within customer service or other service areas and studied/worked abroad.
You are a person with an innovative and open mind who is eager to develop new ways of working and finding smart solutions in the controlling area. Being confident and connecting with people will be very helpful in this role since you will work together with many colleagues in the organisation. Your analytical skills will be important since analysing data and complex issues will be a part of your daily work. Working in a team and collaborating with others in this position is as crucial as being autonomous and taking responsibility for things to happen.
